The author of Sacred Jewel Within website and book is Li-Ing (pronounced as “Lee Ing”) Wu. “Li-Ing” means “beautiful shining jade” in the author’s native language which is Taiwanese. From a young age, the author’s mother remarked that she was a “ different” kind of child: forgetful, kind-hearted, fiercely stubborn as needed with “ a mindset of her own”. As an adult, she has taken on many life paths “outside the square” of the human mainstream mindset because that’s just the way she is.
Li-Ing was a shy and sensitive child with funny feelings about authority figures. The Japanese-influenced Taiwanese/ Chinese culture she was raised in taught her a lot about compliance and obedience to authority and tradition without questioning. As a young child, she started out being inquisitive and imaginative but within a few years of schoolings, her creativity has quickly diminished as oppressed by a rather authoritarian stifling schooling system. Outstanding academic performances throughout her school years did not bring her pride nor self-confidence, but the private moments of diving into Eastern ancient philosophies and Western fables made her very happy.
As a teenager, whilst watching dozens of Oscar movies, disco dancing contests, American TV shows ( the Love Boats, The Three’s Company, The Magic Island, The Western movies, Bewitched), etc. in her studying hours., she was intrigued by the interesting phenomenon that the Westerners seemed to be able to bear with people’s honest self-disclosure better without demanding over-pleasing and over-compliance the way she was brought up.
In life, she observed lots of injustice within her extended family’s multi-generational interactions as well as in society. She wondered why whilst some rotten people constantly got away from their murder, the others that were so loving and divine had to endure so many difficulties in life without ends. She wanted to know the answers and the better ways out. She also has a life-long passion and interest in the esoteric side of life. Her consultations for self-development and personal- growth incorporate her profound professional understanding about humanity with her alternative, complementary therapeutic trainings so as to make her approach more holistic.
To reach out to the mass public around the globe, Li-Ing Wu Beautiful Shining Jade published her book Sacred Jewel Within in 2019. It is available in e-book and at Amazon website. It offers Chapter by Chapter, step by step hands-on guidance for readers to transcend various man-made limiting self-concepts for powerful self-transformation and spiritual growth.
Since then, Li-Ing was placed in many cross-cultural contexts to deal with diverse ethnic backgrounds and clients of different age groups, religions, societal ranks, traditional customs, and belief systems. At some stage, she had relocated 18 times within 5 years’ time frame as part of her spiritual training to be “versatile” as her angel guidance team later told her.
It’s through the contacts with massive diversity, relocations from Asia, to North America and Australia in dealing with a huge spectrum of clientele across the globe ( including those of European descents ) over the last few decades that she has realized that humanity is universal. We are all “on the same boat”! This is so much more so especially in the face of the influence of information high technology and globalization.
Not only there is this universality common in humanity that Li-Ing has observed, but she has also realized that underneath all that universality are the common human conditionings operating around the globe too. Li-Ing started by seeking westward outside her native country in Taiwan with the belief that there is a better system somewhere much like “one size fits all” for improving humanity. After a few decades of diving into humanity with hands-on experiences, she has realized the journey “westwards” or “outward” is better replaced with a journey “ inward” because all the best compass and most precious jewels have been inside of us and will always remain so indefinitely. The grass is not greener on the other side. The grass is in fact greener inside.
In Li-Ing’s book Sacred Jewel Within, she shares many of her insights on the common human conditionings we all face in our modern living and pinpoints her way out with hands-on practical tools of daily homework to be followed through stage by stage, Chapter by Chapter with baby steps overtime at your own pace. It is for your self-transformation and self-empowerment. The journey begins now!
